Till I die

16 to go. These greens are my must-sees until I die. Of course, these are just new countries, I'm not counting the one million times I want to come back to the 48 US to see Yosemite, John Muir Trail, Glacier etc. :-P

• Baltics & Russia
• Lithuania, Latvia, Estonia and St. Peterburg in one trip

• Ireland
• Kerry Way - walk the entire trail, 214 kilometres from and back to Killarney.

• Iceland
• Laugavegurinn - 55 kilometres long hiking trail, one of the most popular in Iceland. Overnight huts every 10 or so kilometres. 

• Switzerland
• Barfussweg Appenzell - 5 kilometres of barefoot walking and tons of other Alpine hiking trails

• Spain
• Camino Portugués - Porto to Santiago. Much more enjoyable than the crowded French Way. From Atlantic coast through Portugese villages to Galicia and Santiago. Oysters, wine, churches, chapels and lots and lots of thinking while walking.

• Ukraine
• Carpathians - Polonina Krasna, Kolochava, meadows, horses.

• Romania
• Easter in Gârnic - traditional way to spend Good Friday with Via Dolorosa and Easter Sunday with all the celebrations.

• Russia
• Trans-Siberian railway: Moscow - Vladivostok, 9300 kilometer long journey to the east. A few weeks on and off the train. See Baikal.

• Morocco
• hiking in Grand Atlas, shopping at Berber markets in Marrakesh, camping in the desert

• Peru & Bolivia
• boat trip on Lake Titicaca, see La Paz, Salar de Uyuni and Cusco, hike Inca Trail

• South Africa
• Kruger National Park - to see "Big Five" - lion, elephant, buffalo, leopard, rhino... and giraffe... and wildebeest!

• Alaska
• Denali National Park - park with higest base to peak mountain in the world - famous Mt McKinley or "The High One", Denali

• Gates of the Arctic National Park - park with no road access, campsites or cell reception. You have to be dropped off by a bush plane to get there. One of the last true wild and untouched places on earth.

... and Australia, because, you know, it's nice to have all five :-P
