I've seen T after a year. We spent two hours sitting in Shadow and talked about how to save the world. Why am I dreaming about studying and living in London and travelling to Rwanda while he's actually doing it?
- You really don't want to go to SOAS? There are clearing applications next month.
- Well, it's not that easy anymore.. on the one hand, I'd love to, but on the other, I like what I am doing now and it would be too complicated to change the school now..
- Understand. Besides, there are so many other ways how to HELP when you are a doctor!
Gosh, how long did I stare at him after he had said that? 21-year-old boy, drinking beer and smoking, sitting in a Prague bar. He's just told a story about having a car crash with a rented car, 'cause he had smoked too much pot and that his roommate can't ever have orgasm with her boyfriend.
And suddenly, he switches to another topic and talks about Kenyan poll, recent terrorist attacks in Pakistan, third world countries' debt, his Syrian hitch-hiking trip and that he's a little bit afraid of getting malaria ('But you know, I study about Africa, so I've got to consider the possibility of dying of Ebola one day.')
Maybe 'cause he knows well how complicated the world is, some things seem so easy to him: 'My friend's daddy works for Médecins Sans Frontières in Mozambique, if you wanna, I can probably arrange you a job there next summer.'

And what else?
- no way to learn the stuff enough for the histology/embryology exam in less then two weeks
- do you know...? that when you don't eat, it's better for studying?
- i wanna speak French! or Portugese..
